Agency chairman: Azerbaijan interested in expanding activities of women entrepreneurs

Azerbaijan is committed to expanding the scope of women entrepreneurs' activities, Sadig Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency (SEA), said, as quoted by Report.

Speaking at the Women's Entrepreneurship Summit 2025, organized by the Azerbaijan HR Institute and the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, Aliyev noted that strengthening women's leadership roles has become one of the main directions of state policy.

"Women entrepreneurs are not only business creators but also carriers of innovation, initiators of social change, and driving forces of renewal. We are interested in the development of women's entrepreneurship in the country and in expanding their areas of activity. Our main goal and duty is to ensure equal opportunities in the labor market and create conditions for women to effectively realize their existing skills," the chairman added.

Aliyev emphasized that since 2020, more than 330,000 women have participated in active employment measures carried out by the agency: "Since the self‑employment program was launched in 2017, more than 35,000 women have been involved. This means that women account for over 30% of all participants in the program."
