Finance minister: 42% of Azerbaijan's 2026 agriculture budget to fund food security

In 2026, 42% of Azerbaijan's state budget allocation for agriculture - equivalent to 513 million manats ($302 million)-will be directed toward food security, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev announced during the first reading of the 2026 state budget draft in the Parliament, Report informs.

Babayev said a total of 1.2 billion manats ($705.8 million) is allocated next year to support agriculture and food security measures. "Next year's allocations to the agrarian sector will reach 15% of the projected agricultural GDP. Of the funds for agriculture, 42% will go to subsidies, agricultural machinery and equipment, and irrigation system incentives. Additionally, 40% or 490 million manats ($288.2 million) will be spent on improving land reclamation, and 18% or 219 million manats ($128.8 million) will support veterinary and other agricultural measures," he explained.
