Azerbaijan has proposed developing an Economic Security Concept that would integrate measures in the social, economic, financial, energy, food, and water sectors, Azer Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship, said at a plenary session of parliament during the first reading of the draft law "On the State Budget for 2026," Report informs.
According to him, specific evaluation criteria could be applied to identify ineffective spending as part of the optimization of budget expenditures: "The budget package essentially consists of financial security measures. We propose developing a unified Economic Security Concept encompassing measures in the areas of social, economic, financial, energy, food, and water security, taking into account the realities and challenges of the times.
We also consider important the proposals and recommendations of the Accounts Chamber on improving budget regulations, revising the methodology for calculating non-oil revenues and current expenditures, and the structural components of the consolidated budget."
