Azerbaijan"s energy resources can be used to create high-performance computing capacities, Steve Nouri, general director and co-founder of GenAI Works, said during the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025).
According to Report, he emphasized that companies and governments should actively seek opportunities rather than wait for them to appear. This is especially important in the field of artificial intelligence, where speed is crucial.
According to him, two key factors are necessary to create an effective AI ecosystem – talent and infrastructure.
"Talent is linked to skills, and developing it requires entrepreneurial thinking and a willingness to create new products, test them, and generate added value," Nouri noted.
"It is necessary to think globally. Often, countries in the region focus only on the domestic market, creating products for local needs. However, to make projects attractive for investment, it is important to target the global market," Nouri emphasized.
He also noted that without proper infrastructure, talent cannot reach its full potential.
"We have already mentioned that the electricity and gas available in Azerbaijan can be used to create high-performance computing capacities. Establishing data centers will bring added value to the economy and also make the infrastructure more accessible and in demand for local specialists," added Nouri.
