Morocco prioritizes digital labor market cooperation with Azerbaijan

Digitization of the labor market and the development of new economic sectors will be key priorities in Morocco's cooperation with Azerbaijan, said Younes Sekkouri, Morocco's Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, at the Executive Council meeting of the Islamic Labour Center in Baku, Report informs.

Sekkouri noted that the nearest plans for cooperation focus on the period between 2026 and 2028, with special attention to the digital transformation of the labor market and the advancement of artificial intelligence.

"In the context of global changes, it is crucial to enhance the skills and qualifications of young people and to develop specialized training programs," he said.

He also emphasized the importance of experience-sharing among Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries.

"In Morocco, the automotive industry is a leading sector - by the end of the year, the country plans to export 1 million vehicles, including electric cars. The aviation sector's revenues exceed $22 billion. At the same time, Azerbaijan has great potential in other areas, including oil and gas," the minister added.

Sekkouri stressed that joint investments and experience exchange can contribute to training a new generation of professionals and building a flexible labor market.
