Palestinian death toll in Gaza surpasses 66,000

The number of Palestinians killed as a result of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 66,000, Report informs, citing the enclave's Ministry of Health.

"The death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 66,005, with 79 people killed in the past 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement.

Earlier, the Israeli army reported carrying out about 140 airstrikes over the past day and strengthening operational control in certain districts of Gaza City, where the IDF has been conducting an intensive offensive for nearly two weeks.

Witnesses and medical sources said Israeli tank divisions pushed deeper into the Sabra, Tel al-Hawa, Sheikh Radwan, and Al-Nasr neighborhoods, advancing toward the central and western parts of Gaza City. Despite Israel's calls to evacuate, hundreds of thousands of people remain in the city.
