The Bundeswehr will assist in ensuring security at the upcoming European Union (EU) summit in Denmark following recent drone incidents, Report informs, citing N-tv.
The informal EU summit will be held in Copenhagen on Wednesday, October 1. According to reports, Germany's Defense Ministry is prepared to deploy "advance forces" to the Danish capital in the near future.
On September 22, several large drones were spotted over Copenhagen, forcing the city's airport to temporarily close for incoming flights.
At the time of the drone sightings, Denmark's Ekstra Bladet newspaper reported that Russia's Baltic Fleet large landing ship Aleksandr Shabalin had approached the kingdom's maritime border.
