Death toll in Kyiv reaches 11 after large-scale Russian attack, including one child among victims

The death toll in Kyiv following the massive and combined attack that took place on July 31 has risen to 11 people, including one child, according to the press service of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMBA), Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

“As of 4:45 p.m. (GMT+3) as a result of the Russian combined attack on Kyiv from the night of July 30 to 31, 2025, 11 people have died (including 1 child),” the statement reads.

In addition, 135 people were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

On the night of July 31, the Russian military launched a large-scale attack on Kyiv, using rockets and kamikaze drones simultaneously. The greatest damage was inflicted on the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a rocket hit a multi-story residential building, completely destroying one of its entrances. Rescue teams are still clearing the rubble, searching for victims. Medical personnel, rescuers, and other emergency crews are working on the site.

The attack damaged over a hundred facilities, including not only residential buildings but also schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and higher education institutions.

According to preliminary information, during the attack, Russian forces launched more than 300 drones and at least eight rockets. Despite the active work of air defense forces, some enemy targets managed to get through and caused serious destruction.

Searches for people trapped under the rubble are ongoing.

At least six people were killed as a result of a massive combined attack by the Russian Armed Forces on Kyiv, Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Report informs via Ukrainian media.

"Emergency services have now confirmed six dead: four in the Sviatoshyn district and two in the Solomianskyi district. Among the dead is a six-year-old boy. Rescue operations are ongoing," he stated.

According to him, one of the strikes targeted a residential building. Debris removal is underway, and people may still be trapped under the rubble of the destroyed entrance section.

He added that drone and ballistic missile strikes by Russian forces caused damage at more than 27 locations. The districts most affected include Solomianskyi, Sviatoshyn, Shevchenkivskyi, and Holosiivskyi in Kyiv.

As a result of a Russian missile strike on Kyiv, 43 people were injured and one person was killed, the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said in a statement.

Report informs via Ukrainian media that the impact caused damage in several districts, with residential buildings affected.

Twenty-six people were hospitalized in medical facilities in the capital, and the body of a deceased woman was recovered from the rubble, the Interior Ministry reported.

The ministry added that among the injured were three police officers who were responding to a call.

"One of the strikes hit a residential high-rise: an entire entrance section was destroyed," the statement said.
