Darth Vader's iconic lightsaber from "Star Wars" fetched more than $3.65 million when it went up for auction on Thursday, Report informs via ABC News.
The screen-matched dueling lightsaber, as seen in both "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," was part of an auction from movie memorabilia and collectibles company Propstore.
The non-working lightsaber was one of hundreds of items in the lot up for bid in the Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction: Los Angeles Summer 2025.
Other items on the auction block included Indiana Jones' whip and Michael Keaton's "Batman" suit.
The starting bid on the lightsaber was listed at $500,000. According to the listing from Propstore, the highest absentee bid for the lightsaber reached $1.2 million ahead of the auction.
"Wielded by both David Prowse and stunt performer Bob Anderson, this is the primary dueling prop created for Vader's character in both Empire and Jedi," the item's description states. "It saw extensive use during the filming of both movies and is one of the most memorable film props from the original trilogy."
The red-laser lightsaber, which was used in the 1980 and 1983 films from George Lucas' iconic "Star Wars" trilogy, has visible imperfections from being used in the fight scenes, with a top shroud cut away, a visible crack, chipped paint and scratches that show its use.
The prop was specifically used in the famed galactic battle scenes between Vader and Luke Skywalker, including the memorable "I am your father" scene, in which Vader slices off Luke's hand.
