Belarus issues protest note to Polish chargé d'affaires over espionage case

Charge d'Affaires of Poland in Belarus Krzysztof Ozanna was summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 5 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Report informs.  

The Polish diplomat was presented with a resolute protest and handed a corresponding note in connection with the act of espionage committed on the territory of Belarus by a Polish citizen, Grzegorz Gawel.  

The Polish diplomat was informed of the unacceptability of such actions by Warsaw, which grossly violate the principles of good neighborliness and inflict serious damage to bilateral relations.  

Poland was notified of Minsk's intention to provide a legal assessment of the incident.   Belarus demanded that Poland refrain from actions damaging the national security of Belarus and return to the path of civilized dialogue and accepted forms of interstate communication.
