Armenia’s Security Council secretary: Regional unblocking to be based on principles of reciprocity, territorial integrity

The lifting of the blockade in the region will be carried out based on sovereignty, jurisdiction, territorial integrity, and the principle of reciprocity, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, said, commenting on the results of the meeting of the leaders of Armenia, the USA, and Azerbaijan in Washington.

“The unblocking of the region is based on the interests of all the countries in the region. There can be no other opinion here,” Grigoryan said.

He noted that Iran had previously stated its support for lifting the blockade within the framework of Armenia’s positions: “I assume there will be support for lifting the blockade, since Iran is also interested in lifting the blockade in the region as a whole.”

Grigoryan recalled that Armenia has stated this for the past 4-5 years, so Iran has also been aware that Armenia is ready to implement the lifting of the blockade based on the above-mentioned principles.
