Argentina's drug regulator bans sale of Colgate-Palmolive toothpaste

The government of Argentina has banned the use, distribution, and promotion of "Colgate Total Active Prevention Clean Mint" toothpaste after receiving complaints from local consumers, the country’s National Administration of Drugs, Food, and Medical Technology (ANMAT) issued an official statement regarding the decision, Report informs via RBK.

Consumers reported adverse reactions to the toothpaste, with a total of 19 complaints filed. The complaints focused on side effects caused by the product, including irritation and inflammation of the oral tissues, blisters, sores, burning sensations, swelling, and pain following use.

ANMAT has launched an ongoing monitoring process and urged the public to report any unwanted side effects experienced after using the product.

This ban follows similar action taken in Brazil, where the sale of the same product was also halted.
