Passenger train from Baku to Aghdam arrives at destination

The passenger train that departed from Baku to Aghdam at 07:10 has arrived at its destination.

According to Report, this was the first train service on the Baku–Aghdam route after a 32-year hiatus.

Passenger rail service between Baku and Aghdam has officially been launched.

Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, modern FLIRT trains manufactured by the Swiss company Stadler will operate on the route.

Under the new schedule, the train will depart Baku on Saturdays at 07:10 and arrive in Aghdam at 11:53. The return service will leave Aghdam at 18:20, reaching Baku Railway Station at 22:55.

The route will serve several stations, including Baku, Binagadi, Ujar, Laki, Yevlakh, Barda, Kocharli, Tazakand, and Aghdam. Passengers will be offered four classes of service: standard, standard+, business, and first.

Ticket prices start at 12 manats for travel from Baku to Barda, Kocharli, and Tazakand, while a ticket to the Aghdam railway and bus terminal is priced at 12.80 manats. Free Wi-Fi will be available onboard throughout the journey.

To facilitate comfortable travel to the liberated territories, passengers purchasing tickets for the Baku–Aghdam–Baku route will automatically receive the necessary entry permit through the online booking system.

Passenger rail services to Aghdam were last operated in 1993, prior to the occupation. At that time, trains ran on the Baku–Aghdam–Baku route via Khankendi, covering the 371-kilometer distance in eight and a half hours.
