Turkish Parliament calls for suspension of Israel's UN membership

The Turkish Parliament has called on the international community to suspend Israel's membership in the UN and other international organizations, as well as to halt military and trade relations with the country, according to Report.

The call is contained in the resolution of the Turkish Parliament, adopted unanimously following an extraordinary session on the situation in Gaza.

The resolution was published under the signature of Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus.

"We call for the suspension of Israel's membership in the UN and international organizations until its government abandons its policy of genocide.

We also call on all national parliaments to cease military and trade relations with Israel and to immediately take action to lift the embargo on Palestine," the document says.

The statement describes Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as a "crime of genocide."

"We urge the international community to make greater efforts to compel Israel to accept a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, withdraw its armed forces from the region, and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza," the statement adds.
