FM: Azerbaijan continues to lead transformation process of CICA into full-fledged international organization

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov chaired the informal meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and delivered a speech at the gathering.

Following the meeting, Jeyhun Bayramov shared a post on X:

"Pleased to chair and deliver remarks at the Informal Meeting of the CICA Ministerial Council on the margins of UNGA80.

This gathering, coinciding with the UN"s 80th anniversary, was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the achievements of our Conference and chart the course for its future development.

We are grateful for the broad support of Member States to our initiatives.

Key milestones during Azerbaijan"s Chairmanship include launching the process to establish the CICA Women"s Council and Finance Summit, operationalizing the Network of Leading Universities, and advancing confidence-building in areas such as economy, climate resilience, digitalization and tourism among others.

We continue to lead the transformation process of CICA into a full-fledged international organization, with inclusive and consensus-based negotiations on its Charter underway.

Azerbaijan remains committed to strengthening multilateralism, solidarity, and effective dialogue, ensuring CICA becomes an even stronger platform for regional cooperation and a more influential voice on the global stage."
