Azerbaijan's 44-day Patriotic War not only restored the country's territorial integrity but also created a new political situation in the South Caucasus region, Valeri Chechelashvili, director of the Geopolitical Studies at the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center, told Report.
He noted that the restoration of territorial integrity paved the way for the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Chechelashvili emphasized that this process culminated in the initialing of the peace agreement in Washington on August 8, brokered by President Donald Trump.
"Peace will benefit not only Azerbaijan, but also Armenia, Georgia, and the entire South Caucasus. This creates new opportunities for regional cooperation and increases the attractiveness of investment and cargo transportation. As a result, a fundamental factor for the security, prosperity, and development prospects of the entire South Caucasus is being formed," Chechelashvili stated.
