Speaker: Agreements reached during Washington visit hold historical significance

The agreements reached during President Ilham Aliyev's Washington visit are of historic significance, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, said, Report informs.

She made the statement during a special session on "Washington agreements: the triumph of peace diplomacy and wise leadership" held within the framework of the extraordinary session of parliament.

According to Gafarova, the Washington agreements have influenced not only the development of US-Azerbaijan relations and the peace agenda, but also the processes in the South Caucasus as a whole:

"Today, it can be proudly said that the President's historical agreements in the US are among the greatest achievements obtained as a continuation of the National Leader's political course."
