Azerbaijan's Central Bank, Visa mull formation of innovative payment infrastructure

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and Visa have discussed the possibilities of forming an innovative payment infrastructure, Report informs.

The discussions took place at a meeting between Chairman of the CBA Taleh Kazimov and a delegation led by Visa Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Tareq Muhmood.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the country's financial sector, the formation of a competitive and innovative payment infrastructure, the stimulation of non-cash payments, as well as existing opportunities and new initiatives to expand the acceptance of digital payments.

The importance of cooperation with such experienced companies as Visa was emphasized in terms of studying and applying international experience and modern approaches.

The possibilities of future cooperation between the CBA and Visa, as well as the prospects for the development of the financial technology ecosystem, were discussed.
