Türkiye has established bilateral mechanisms with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to explore additional cooperation opportunities for effectively utilizing the potential of the Middle Corridor, said Turhan Dilmac, Head of Department at the Center for Strategic Research of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Report informs.
Speaking at the 13th session of the CICA Think Tank Forum during the panel on "Strengthening Eurasian Connectivity," Dilmac emphasized that the concept of connectivity must be accompanied by concrete steps.
"By establishing transport and trade corridors, we are in fact forming corridors of trust that connect our economies, societies, and people," he said.
He added that within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, Türkiye is working closely with Azerbaijan and Central Asian partners on the Middle Corridor. "The goal is to strengthen economic integration and sustainable development along this route. We believe that the Middle Corridor offers Central Asian countries an opportunity to expand trade routes, deepen economic integration, and ensure sustainable growth," Dilmac concluded.
The Middle Corridor is an international transport route that passes through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia, and extends to Europe via Türkiye.
