Islamophobia is a dangerous trend that leads to discrimination against Muslims, Ravan Hasanov, the Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), told the international conference titled "Islamophobia: Concept and Practice in the Current Global Context" organized by the League of Arab States and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Cairo, Report informs.

Hasanov stated that Islamophobia is a serious and systematic discrimination issue in the world today, contradicting the basic principles of democracy - equality, freedom of religion, and justice. This problem is not just prejudice, but also a dangerous trend that leads to discrimination against Muslims in legislation, media, and public opinion.

He especially emphasized that the fight against Islamophobia is not only a defense of Muslims but also of human rights and democracy as a whole.

The main purpose of the event is to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue, contributing to peace, mutual respect, and security. The conference discussed the causes of Islamophobia, its spread, and its impact on societies and international security.
