Umerov: Ukraine hopes for US support in achieving ceasefire

Ukraine remains committed to achieving a ceasefire and looks forward to continued support from the United States in securing lasting peace, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said, Report informs via Ukrainian media.
"First and foremost, Ukraine is committed to a ceasefire. We are grateful to President Donald Trump for his initiative. We also thank all our European and American partners who are assisting us. This is just the first step," Umerov stated.
Earlier today, as part of agreements reached between Ukraine and Russia following negotiations in Istanbul, the sides conducted a prisoner exchange. During the first phase, each side returned 270 prisoners of war and 120 civilians.
