Ukrainian negotiation teams are working with countries of the Global South and the United States on prisoner-of-war (POW) exchanges, the return of Ukrainian children, the release of foreign captives, and preparations for future summits involving world leaders, Report informs via Ukrainian media.
"At the moment, our team is engaged in negotiations through Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, the UAE, Switzerland, and the US. So apart from the US, we're working with the Global South," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing.
He emphasized that these are countries that have supported Ukraine and noted that positive results are being recorded.
"As for these nations serving as potential venues for future bilateral or trilateral leader meetings, I"ll receive a full briefing on Saturday evening," Zelenskyy added.
Speaking on Ukraine's security guarantees, the president underlined that the key component is access to weapons. Kyiv is pursuing this across three directions – domestic production, including drones and other technologies, European production covering air defense systems, artillery, and US-supplied weapons through a mechanism known as PURL, via NATO cooperation.
