Kazakhstani rep: Middle Corridor is flagship project of OTS

The Middle Corridor is the flagship project of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), according to Sanat Kushkumbayev, Chief Research Fellow at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS), Report informs.

He made the remark during a panel discussion titled "The OTS's Contribution to Global Economy, Trade, and Transport in Times of Economic Instability," held in Baku.

Kushkumbayev stated that the Middle Corridor is becoming a strategic necessity: "This is a real outcome of our joint efforts. OTS member states are further increasing their annual transportation capacities."

According to the official, plans are underway within the OTS space to shorten routes and simplify customs procedures: "One of the main goals is to reduce delivery time from China to Europe to a minimum of 10-15 days. This means delivery twice as fast as sea transportation."

Kushkumbayev added that the Middle Corridor holds vital importance for the prosperity and development of Turkic states.
