Iran has suspended monthly disability benefit payments due to a shortage of budget funds, Report informs, citing Iran International.
Iran's State Welfare Organization said payments of subsidies for social services and hygiene products have also been delayed.
According to an investigation by ILNA, the reduction in payments shows that the Islamic Republic's authorities are unable to support citizens under the social welfare system, especially people with disabilities, amid a deepening economic crisis.
It was noted that rising prices for medical and hygiene products have affected around 45,000 people with spinal cord injuries. Prices for sterile dressings, catheters, urine bags, syringes and medicines used to treat bedsores have increased two to threefold.
