The captain of an Airbus A350 aircraft operating Finnair's Bangkok–Helsinki flight requested permission for an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Report informs.

The reason was a sudden health issue experienced by one of the passengers on board during the flight.

The crew made an immediate operational decision to divert the flight to Baku, and the aircraft successfully landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 19:44 local time (GMT +4).

The airport's medical service promptly provided first aid to the passenger, and the necessary medical procedures regarding the passenger's condition are currently ongoing.

Heydar Aliyev International Airport continues to carry out operational coordination in accordance with international requirements, ensuring flight safety and passenger well-being across all flights.
