Putin: Europe trying to push Russia into background

Russia did not spoil relations with the European Union, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a "Direct Line" with citizens and a large press conference with journalists.

"As for normalization with the EU, we have not spoiled relations with anyone. Europe is trying to push us into the background," Putin said.

According to him, EU countries have largely lost their sovereignty and are making decisions to their own detriment.
