China to send 2 billion doses of COVID vaccine to other countries by late 2021

China will strive to provide a total of two billion doses of vaccines to the world by the end of this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Report informs.
In addition to donating 100 million US dollars to COVAX, China will donate 100 million doses of vaccines to other developing countries in the course of this year, the president said.
Earlier, in a conversation with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Xi Jinping confirmed that China is ready to provide the republic with the necessary amount of vaccine against new strains of coronavirus.
North Korean officials have asked that about 3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine offered by China be diverted to another country.
