JetBrains: ICPC in Baku showcases Azerbaijan's culture and global potential

The global final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), currently being held in Baku, has become not only a stage for intellectual competition among students from over 100 countries but also a showcase of the cultural and architectural richness of Azerbaijan"s capital, said Andrey Ivanov, Senior Vice President of JetBrains for Human Resources, Research, and Investment, Report informs.

Speaking at a said at a press conference dedicated to the ICPC final, Ivanov emphasized the significance of the event for Azerbaijan.

"We've seen this competition in many countries, as we've supported ICPC for a long time. Participation in ICPC is a true springboard: if one can seize the opportunity, it can be the beginning of major changes. Yes, it requires effort from everyone here in Azerbaijan, but a strong first step has already been taken," Ivanov said.

He also stressed the importance of Baku"s international exposure:

"Imagine-many of the participants, from more than 100 countries, might never have heard of Azerbaijan or visited it before. Now they know this country, this city, its history and beauty. They may return, fall in love with this place, and even want to build a business here. This beautiful city, with some of the best architecture I've seen anywhere in the world, will now become known to even more people. That's why this event is so important for Azerbaijan," he added.
