Sahiba Gafarova chairs general discussions at Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament

The Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, chaired the general discussions on the second day of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held in Geneva, Switzerland, Report informs.

Speakers of parliaments from nearly 30 countries spoke during the discussions.

Afterward, the discussions continued under the chairmanship of Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.

The Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament is being held at the United Nations Office in Geneva, jointly organized by the UN and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

A total of 120 delegations are participating in the conference, including speakers of parliaments from 102 countries, vice-speakers from 38 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations that cooperate with the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
