The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held in Azerbaijan, is in the spotlight of foreign media, especially the Uzbek press.
Report informs that Uzbekistan's state news agency Uza.uz and the well-known news portal Zamon.uz have prepared extensive materials on the forum.
The articles draw attention to Azerbaijan's growing role in global urbanization processes, noting that Baku has already become not only one of the region's, but also one of the important international platforms where urban planning and the sustainable development agenda are discussed.
The articles extensively covered the views of Farid Shahbazli, chairman of the Reformist Youth Public Union. He said WUF13 is an important global platform that presents Azerbaijan's modern urban planning vision and development model to the international community.
Shahbazli noted that restoration and reconstruction projects being implemented in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur draw particular attention within the framework of the forum. The Smart City and Smart Village concepts applied there, green energy solutions, digital governance systems and the creation of modern transport infrastructure are among the main directions of Azerbaijan's new urban model.
According to him, this model is not limited only to infrastructure construction, but is also based on social inclusiveness, the preservation of national architectural heritage and ensuring ecological balance.
Shahbazli said in his statement that the forum in Baku, while being another example of Azerbaijan's international prestige and experience, brings the country's human-centered city model to the global agenda and forms a new vision for the cities of the future.
In general, the materials published in the Uzbek media emphasized that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the fields of urban planning, architecture and regional development has strengthened further in recent years. Azerbaijan's experience in restoring post-conflict territories is being followed with interest by the Uzbek public in particular.
It was stated that WUF13 is not only a global discussion platform, but is also of great importance in terms of forming a new model of urban cooperation among the countries of the Turkic world.
