Azerbaijan's continued hosting of international media forums is transforming the South Caucasus into one of the world’s leading intellectual centers, Yan Lisnevsky, head of the Political Observations and Analytical Media Center in Moldova, said in an interview with Report.
He highlighted Azerbaijan's growing importance as a hub for media analysts.
"Azerbaijan is becoming a key meeting point for media professionals and analysts in the new era. This is crucial for the South Caucasus, which plays a bridge role between the East and the West, connecting the distant East, the Middle East, and Europe. The region’s importance in the world’s political landscape is increasingly hard to ignore," Lisnevsky explained.
He pointed out that significant shifts are taking place globally, especially in the region, and these changes make the South Caucasus' role indispensable for Europe. Azerbaijan, in particular, is playing an active part in shaping the future narrative by regularly gathering prominent media figures and analysts.
The recent media forum held in Khankendi—an area Azerbaijan recently restored sovereignty over—marks a pivotal moment in the country's position in global media discourse, the Moldovan expert noted. "It reinforces Azerbaijan's sovereignty and elevates the region as a central discussion point for the evolving world order," he concluded.
