Iran welcomes Russia's efforts to resolve the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh peacefully, but threats in the region remain, Speaker of the Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs, referring to TASS.
"The continuation of this conflict could create security issues on Iran's northern borders. We are pleased that Russia has made efforts to end this war as soon as possible. But it seems to me that there are dormant threats in this region. I mean, it is necessary to prevent the presence of terrorist forces in this region," he said.
