Jabbarov: New transport links open new opportunities for Azerbaijan

The initialing of the Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with the establishment of peace in the region and the creation of new transport links, will create new favorable opportunities for Azerbaijan's development, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at a special Cabinet meeting dedicated to President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to the United States, Report informs.

“These achievements are the successful result of President Ilham Aliyev’s wise and far-sighted policy and reflect historical justice for our people and state,” Jabbarov said.

He emphasized that it also represents a clear example of the diplomatic skill of President Aliyev as a strong political leader and his ability to defend national interests on the international stage.

“Another important outcome achieved in Washington is waiving Section 907, adopted by the US Congress 33 years ago. Reaching an agreement to eliminate this amendment demonstrates that Azerbaijan-US relations have entered a qualitatively new phase,” the minister added.
