Anar Guliyev: Azerbaijani Archery Championship organized at a high level

The Azerbaijani Archery Championship and competition were organized at a high level, the President of the Archery Federation, Anar Guliyev, told journalists while summarizing the results of the tournament.

Report quotes him as saying the tournament became a true celebration for fans of the sport.

"In Azerbaijan, special attention is paid to the development of sports. We strive to organize archery competitions at a higher level, and the impressions from this tournament are very positive. Gender balance is generally ensured, although there are noticeably more female participants, especially among athletes under 15 years old," Guliyev noted.

He added that in the future, such tournaments are planned to be held in the regions of the country as well.

"Until now, competitions were held only in Baku - indoors in winter and outdoors in summer. We intend to expand geographically and hold championships in different districts of the country. New tournaments and cup competitions may also be established," Guliyev added.

The Federation President also shared his expectations for the 3rd CIS Games, which will be held in Azerbaijan this autumn: "This is an important sporting event for our country. Archery competitions will take place in the city of Khankandi. For every athlete, this is a great honor and responsibility. We are confident that our athletes will show good results."
