President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev - author of stability in region

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is the author of stability and security established in the region, Azerbaijani MP Azer Badamov told Report.

He noted that in order to achieve a fair result, it is necessary to go through a difficult path: "President Ilham Aliyev knows very well how to restore justice. Therefore, we continued our path, resisting external pressure, without changing our position until justice prevailed. Of course, achieving recognition of your rightness is not an easy task. In fact, even if you are right, but not strong, your rights are trampled."

The MP added that the events that have happened to Azerbaijan over the past 35 years were the result of the international powers perceiving the country as a party with an unfair position: "When Section 907 was introduced into the US Freedom Support Act, Azerbaijan, despite being occupied, was presented as an occupier. And during the 28-year activity of the OSCE Minsk Group, they have made efforts not to stop Armenia's occupation policy, but to force Azerbaijan to accept the occupation. But when a country has a strong leader, justice prevails. Thus, the irreversibility of our victory in the 44-day Patriotic War was the result of the foreign policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev. The legal framework was prepared, we proved to the international community that the territories of our country are under occupation. President Ilham Aliyev stated that the Karabakh conflict should be resolved by military and political means. Therefore, during the war, our territories were liberated from occupation, and Lachin, Aghdam and Kalbajar districts were returned as a result of political decisions without a single shot. If we had continued the war to liberate these districts, we would have liberated them at the cost of the lives of thousands of our young people. But thanks to the strong policy and diplomacy of our head of state, the need for a new war has disappeared."

The MP stressed that after Azerbaijan restored its sovereignty, the Biden-Blinken administration, Macron, the European Union, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and others launched a pressure campaign by adopting biased resolutions, presenting Azerbaijan as an occupier and a violator of human rights on its sovereign territory: "But Azerbaijan did not back down, the people believed in their leader and the decisions he made. It was thanks to the strong political will and diplomacy of the head of our state that Armenia was forced to recognize that Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Thanks to the successful policy of President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian separatism in Karabakh was eradicated. The peace treaty presented by Azerbaijan was accepted by the Armenian side. True, those who supported Armenia and inspired it to a new war tried to keep it from accepting Azerbaijan's conditions. But thanks to the diplomacy of the head of our state, a peace treaty was initialed in the White House and with the participation of [US President Donald] Trump. Many did not like it, but there was no other way out. Therefore, those who accused Azerbaijan were the first to congratulate our people. Naturally, this is recognition of the growing authority of our country and our justice by Macron and others thanks to the strong leadership of the head of our state."
