Peruvian envoy calls for deeper ties with Azerbaijan

César Augusto de las Casas Díaz, Peru’s non-resident ambassador to Azerbaijan, emphasized the need to deepen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries, describing the relationship as “positive” but ripe for further development.

Speaking at a reception in Ankara marking Peru’s National Day, the ambassador told Report that he plans to visit Azerbaijan between September and October. During his trip, he is expected to hold talks with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and other state institutions.

“We are particularly interested in promoting Peruvian brands in Baku,” the ambassador said, adding that he had been invited to participate in several international exhibitions scheduled in the Azerbaijani capital in the coming months.

Cultural diplomacy will also be on the agenda. The ambassador noted that as part of the visit discussions will be held about organizing events aimed at showcasing Peruvian culture.
