EBRD updates investment portfolio for Azerbaijan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has, to date, invested 3.588 billion euros in 187 projects in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the EBRD.

The number of EBRD-financed projects in Azerbaijan has increased by 2 units, and the investment portfolio has decreased by 68 million euros, compared to the indicators announced by the Bank for December 22 of last year.

The share of the private sector in the EBRD's investment portfolio for Azerbaijan remained unchanged at 14%.

Currently, EBRD has 35 active projects in its portfolio for Azerbaijan. The portfolio for these projects was 843 million euros (7 million euros less), operating assets were 738 million euros (14 million euros less), and cumulative payments were 3.080 billion euros (80 million euros less).

According to the revised portfolio, 86% or 726 million euros (down 22 million euros) fell to the share of infrastructure projects, 10% or 85 million euros (27 million euros more) to industry, trade, and agribusiness, and 4% or 31 million euros (1 million euros more) fell to the share of financial institutions.

EBRD's investment in Azerbaijan made up 1% of its total portfolio.

Azerbaijan has been a member of the EBRD since 1992.
