Central Bank of Azerbaijan: Current account surplus to reach $4B per year in 2025-2026

A surplus of the current account of Azerbaijan's balance of payments is expected by the end of 2025, and there is a high probability that this trend will continue in 2026, Director General of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Vugar Ahmadov said at a press conference, Report informs.
He noted that in the first half of this year, the current account surplus amounted to 6.3% of GDP.
Ahmadov added that in 2025-2026, the current account surplus of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan amounted to $3-4 billion per year.
According to the results of the first half of 2025, the current account surplus of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan amounted to $2.3 billion (a decrease of 11.7% compared to January-June 2024).
