Fergus Auld: Azerbaijan has come long way on climate agenda in 2 years

Azerbaijan has made significant progress on the climate agenda in two years, British Ambassador to Baku Fergus Auld said at the Climate Action Week (BCAW2025) in Baku, Report informs.

"I'm thinking about the journey Azerbaijan has made over the past two years. Two years ago, COP29 in Baku wasn't even announced. A year ago, the first Climate Action Week took place in Baku. I believe that events like these help broaden and deepen discussions beyond the actions of governments," the diplomat said.

According to him, Baku has brought together many long-standing participants involved in the climate agenda – government officials, scientists, and green economy experts.

Auld emphasized that thanks to COP29 and initiatives like Climate Action Week, the climate discussion has become much broader and more inclusive.
