Group of foreign journalists visits Azerbaijani diaspora committee

A group of foreign journalists has visited the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with Diaspora and met with Deputy Chairman Elshad Aliyev, Report informs referring to the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.
Among the guests were an employee of the American bureau of the Report news agency Vusala Abbasova, a correspondent of the Italian news agency Italpress in the US Stefano Vaccara, as well as the president of the Jordan Report Media and Entertainment company, a journalist of Jordanian origin Jordan Daqamseh. During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman informed the guests about the concept of creating a single network of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
He noted that currently, extensive ties have been established with compatriots living in 70 countries around the world. Coordination Councils have been created for the centralized activities of the diaspora, and 30 Azerbaijani houses have been opened in 20 countries around the world. Foreign journalists emphasized that this trip significantly contributed to raising their awareness of Azerbaijan and the region as a whole.
Sharing their impressions, they noted that the Azerbaijani government is making significant efforts to develop the diaspora. According to them, such an approach is extremely rare and has genuinely surprised them. The journalists also drew attention to the strengthening of friendly ties between the countries they represent and Azerbaijan, assuring that they will continue to promote the dissemination of objective information about the country.
During the meeting, a broad exchange of views took place on issues of mutual interest. The interaction of the State Committee and the Azerbaijani diaspora with foreign media, the role of the diaspora in the information space in the context of military and post-conflict periods, as well as the activities of international media in the context of objective coverage of events were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Chairman answered questions from foreign journalists.
