Restoration work on the Momine Khatun Mausoleum has commenced.
According to the Nakhchivan bureau of Report, under an agreement signed between the Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Austrian company Atelier Erich Pummer GmbH, a company workgroup arrived in Nakhchivan on August 5.
The monument will be restored to its original appearance while preserving its historical authenticity. The company has already started work on building the necessary infrastructure on the mausoleum’s grounds.
It should be noted that on May 22, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on measures for the restoration and conservation of the world-class historical and architectural monument—the Momine Khatun Mausoleum, located in the city of Nakhchivan. According to the document, an initial amount of 1 million manats was allocated from the President’s reserve fund to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for these purposes.
