The events that took place in Washington in August, particularly the signing of an agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia mediated by Donald Trump, became an important achievement not only for the presidents but also for the prestige of all the countries involved, the Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Yusif Abdullayev, said during the panel discussion in Baku "Future Careers: How to Stay Relevant, Prepared, and in Demand," according to Report.
"If we talk about bringing Azerbaijan to a new level, especially in the areas I represent-business, export, investments-the ongoing processes have put us in a very advantageous position in terms of attracting new companies and investors," he emphasized.
Abdullayev noted that the liberated territories open up huge prospects for the development of logistics and international connectivity. However, according to him, the country is currently facing a shortage of specialists in the field of investment promotion.
"This is a very interesting but emotionally demanding job: it is necessary to convince partners to come to Azerbaijan and start cooperation here. But it is not enough just to attract them-it is important to accompany and support the activities of investors within the country. In this context, soft skills, knowledge of foreign languages, and the development of logistics competencies are extremely in demand," the head of AZPROMO said.
He added that Russian continues to be one of the main means of business communication in the region. However, along with English, Chinese, French, and German are gaining increasing popularity.
"These languages are in demand since China is one of the key partners with whom we associate great expectations in the field of investment. At the same time, logistics opens up new opportunities for the English-speaking world as well, including along the so-called ‘Trump route." We are recording growing interest from Europe and the United States. America, undoubtedly, can become one of our key partners in the future," Abdullayev concluded.
