Azerbaijan's gas meter imports drop sharply

In January-March 2026, Azerbaijan imported 311 gas meters worth $231,400.

According to Report's calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee, this is 82% less in value terms and 98% less in volume terms compared with the same period of 2025.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 17 gas meters worth $121,500 from Germany (+6 times in value; -83% in volume), 103 units worth $65,000 from Poland (there were no supplies a year earlier), 45 units worth $23,200 from Italy (-86% in value; -75% in volume), 20 units worth $16,440 from the Netherlands, and two units worth $4,000 from Slovakia (-73% in value; -89% in volume).

Azerbaijan resumed gas meter supplies from the Netherlands after a break of one year and eight months.

In 2025, China accounted for 92.5% of the 28,736 gas meters imported by Azerbaijan.
