Minister: Azerbaijan makes major investments in agricultural development

Azerbaijan makes substantial investments in agricultural research and development, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov stated on the second day of the 1st Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF-2025) held in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that the ministry operates several research institutes focused on developing crop solutions tailored to climate change and improving productivity year by year: "In the field of education, the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University is actively engaged."

The minister emphasized that agriculture in Azerbaijan is exempt from taxation: "In fact, this is one of our most valuable advantages. Agricultural equipment, machinery, and irrigation systems imported into Azerbaijan are fully exempt from customs duties and also from VAT. This makes investment in agriculture highly attractive and strategically important. We are implementing several programs to support our farmers."
