Azerbaijan creating unified digital system for land, irrigation data

Azerbaijan is working to integrate geographic data on land, irrigation canals and collector-drainage networks into a unified digital system.

Report informs that Ilham Bayramov, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, said this at a public hearing held by the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis on tasks arising from the State Program for the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products for 2026-2030.

According to him, one of the key priorities is to ensure accurate and systematic accounting of the water balance.

"To this end, the application of digital solutions, installation of measuring devices, expansion of electronic accounting systems and creation of real-time monitoring capabilities are of particular importance. Coordinated work is currently being carried out with the Ministry of Agriculture on water supply. Integrations are also underway between the information systems of these institutions, and we will continue our work in this direction," Bayramov said.
