Documents on cooperation in various fields have been signed between Türkiye and Niger, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on X following his meeting with Niger's President Abdourahamane Tchiani.
"We thoroughly discussed our relations in the fields of defense industry, security, energy, mining, trade, investment, education, healthcare, and agriculture," Erdoğan said. He added that an agreement had been reached to establish a joint economic and trade committee.
In addition, the protocol for the management of the Türkiye–Niger Friendship Hospital has been updated.
"We continue to develop relations with African countries based on the principles of equal partnership and mutual respect.
We stand alongside friendly and brotherly countries in the fight against terrorist organizations that destabilize the continent, especially in the Sahel region," he said.
