Turkish minister: Some countries interested in purchasing TCG Anadolu

Some countries have expressed a desire to purchase the domestic landing ship TCG Anadolu from Türkiye, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said, Report informs referring to Turkish media.

The minister noted that TCG Anadolu marked the beginning of a new stage in the country’s defense industry: “UAVs can easily land and take off from a ship. This is not possible in any other country. We can achieve serious success in international operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean Sea.”

The production of the landing ship TCG Anadolu began in 2016. The ship was launched in May 2019, and its trials began in June 2022.
