Tokayev calls for unity among Turkic states amid complex global geopolitical situation

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called on Turkic-speaking countries to strengthen economic cooperation amid the current complex geopolitical situation.

According to Report"s correspondent from Turkistan, Tokayev made the remarks during his welcoming speech at the informal summit of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States.

"We are living through an extremely difficult and unstable geopolitical period. Various challenges are intensifying both in the world and in our region - armed conflicts, wars, and crises. We all see the negative impact this is having on the global economy," Tokayev said.

According to him, the consequences of the situation in the Middle East "are already being felt in our countries as well."

"In such conditions, the unity of the Turkic states is especially important, since we share common historical and spiritual roots. Today, Turkic countries must, taking into account global trends, strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy and investment and combine efforts in pursuit of common interests," Tokayev stressed.
