Armenia and the European Union will abolish visa requirements within two years, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with voters during the election campaign, Report informs referring to Armenian media.
"The issue of visa liberalization between Armenia and the EU will be resolved within two years... By then, all you need to do is remember to bring your passport and ticket," he said.
The official dialogue and visa liberalization process between the EU and Armenia began in 2024.
As part of the signed action plan, the parties are currently working closely to assess progress in reforms, security, and data protection.
If the current pace of reforms continues, visa-free travel for Armenian citizens may become a reality in the coming years.
Full visa-free travel will be introduced once the European Commission and the European Parliament approve the fulfillment of all mandatory criteria.
