Kazakhstan predicts economic growth of 5.4% in 2026

Kazakhstan's GDP growth in 2026 is projected to be 5.4%, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said at a government meeting on August 26, Report informs.

"In Kazakhstan, in accordance with the baseline scenario, real GDP growth in 2026 is projected to be 5.4%, with average annual growth over three years (2026-2028) at 5.3%. Economic growth will be driven by the real sector and the service sector. In the manufacturing industry, the growth rate is projected to accelerate from 6.2% in 2026 to 6.6% in 2028 due to the implementation of investment projects," Zhumangarin explained.

He also noted that the government has prepared a long-term forecast for the development of Kazakhstan's economy for 2026-2035.

"Three long-term development options were considered: basic, moderate, and alternative. Average annual economic growth in the alternative option for the next 10 years is projected at 5.1%, in the moderate option at 4.3%. In the basic option, average annual GDP growth over 10 years will be 4.5%," he emphasized.

According to Zhumangarin, the inflation forecast for 2026 is no higher than 10%, for 2027-2028 at the level of 6% per year. Kazakhstan's GDP in 2024 grew by 4.8%. The GDP growth forecast for 2025 is at least 5.5%.
